Documenting Blake’s London
by ARNIS PURPLE
Private View: Thursday 28th May 6.00 - 8.00 pm
Exhibition: 29th May - 7th June 2014
After the huge success of its launch at The Strand Gallery in February, ARNIS PURPLE is delighted to announce its exclusive participation in a feature exhibition at MOKSPACE, Museum Street, WC1. We invite all art and design enthusiasts to join us in celebrating this new show, especially at the PRIVATE VIEWING on Wednesday 28th of May, from 5.30 pm until 8.00 pm. Complimentary drinks will be served.
The exhibition, entitled “Documenting Blake’s London”, will explore the depiction of London as seen through William Blake’s acclaimed poem, first published in 1794, titled ‘London’. Featuring a total of seven artists, this new show will bring together recent arts graduates from around the Capital as well as two established illustrators, namely Christopher Corr (BBC TV, Royal Mail, Folio Society), and Gemma Latimer (Ted Baker, Radio Times and BAFTA). Never before have such giants in the illustrative world been assembled into a single exhibition, working on one of the most classic texts in the English language.
Everyone will be welcome and will be encouraged to question their own perception of the conurbation with fellow politicians, academics and other creative people. Once launched, the exhibition will move on from Mokspace to the Big Noise Festival at the Bussey Building in June.
